This last Wednesday, I checked my email. Something in my heart was ready. Heck, it's been ready for a long time now. There it was. The long Rwandan name that I love but can't possibly pronounce with "Matching File" in the subject line. Sheer adrenaline pumped through my weary early morning veins. I shouted to Jon and we ran upstairs to download a picture of her sweet face on the larger screen. I grabbed the video camera to document the moment. The boys heard the commotion and came running up the stairs. My hands were shaking so bad that the video is worthless, except that it captures Jon and I fighting over getting the tiny thumb print image to enlarge. And there she was. Grace!
We knew in November of 2009 that God was leading us down this path to adopt but had no idea what would be ahead of us. It's been a rough ride I have to say. But the reward of her precious face was worth it all. God's grace in our own lives as He adopted us into His family led us to want to express that in an earthly was to someone less fortunate. And God's grace led us to Grace. It is her Rwandan name and we will place it as her middle name. Perfect. Aliyah Grace.
She is the chubbiest little orphan child I've ever seen but I think that is because God knew she would need to be a good eater to fit into the Choy family.
I will post a picture as soon as I'm officially allowed. She's gorgeous! She's 10 months this Thursday and has a full head of hair. I guess there will be a quick learning curve as far as that goes. Anyone with advice???
