Do Miracles Happen in Government Agencies??

So since I put Jon's documents in the mail on Feb 11th, I've been waiting for this envelope. I called the Secretary of State's office every few days hoping to find out when our forms had been processed into "the system". As with most things going through "the system", it promised to be a long wait.  When I called on Feb 19th, they were working on documents received on Feb 2nd.  Each day I called it seemed they had only made 1 days progress for every 5 calendar days.  Except for our Home Study report, this was our last remaining document.  I continued to call every 4 days or so, holding 30 minutes while waiting for a live voice to answer.  The same reply.  "You are not yet in 'the system'."  So finally yesterday, there was  a ray of hope.  It appeared that our form would be going into "the system" by Monday of next week.  WOW!  Okay, if I have it over nighted, we could have it by Tuesday, notarized, certified and off to D.C. on Wednesday.  Maybe.

So today, I grab the mail out of the mailbox and there it is!!  What??  We're not even in "the system"?  Miraculously, "the system" produced our authenticated documents without ever crossing someone's desk??  I have no clue, but I did a dance at the mailbox that I'm sure onlookers would have been greatly disturbed by.  The boys loved it!  Kyle asked, "Does this mean we get my little sister this week?"  "Oh sweetie..."

Of course, I realize my dance was over a matter of days saved when we have months and months ahead of us to wait for much more exciting envelopes in the mail.  But the dance today must be just a sweet taste of things to come.

YEA for a quicker government delivery than was supposed to be possible!!
