The Final Reveal

There is so much going on right now.  So much packing.  So many lists, phone calls, purchases, returns, loads and loads of laundry, organizing, cleaning, and making sure that the kids are well loved on before we leave.

And every time I walk down the hall, I see her room and I breathe in a sigh of sweet release.  This is almost here.  She is almost ours!  I love the feel of the room.  It speaks joy and life and peace to me.  I've not finished the sweet tiny touches that make  a room feel lived in, but I suppose that is because it is not quite yet.  I'm sure that as I know her, I will know what will go in the nooks and crannies.

Tonight as I was organizing one more cabinet, I heard Kyle giggling from the other room.  He bounced into the kitchen with a gleam in his eye.  "What is it?", I asked.  "Mom, Aliyah's room is BEAUTIFUL!!!"  Totally unprompted and sooo sweet. He made my day.

So here is where it stands today.

And in case you didn't catch it, we have named her Aliyah.  Her Rwandan name is Grace (could it be more perfect) so her full name will be Aliyah Grace Choy.  Before Kyle was even conceived, I had a dream about this name.  I'd never heard it and thought it was beautiful.  Kind of exotic.  I thought that would be befitting for a mixed child between Jon and I, so that became our name for a little girl should God bless us with one.  And then there was Kyle.  When I got pregnant the second time, it would be Aliyah again except that HE was Clayton.  And now we have our little Aliyah.  Named before we'd even conceived of her.  I love that.

We hope to show you pictures very soon!
