Mini Makeover and a Slumber Party

After a few full days of paperwork, Rwandan facilities and God blessed favor upon us, Aliyah is now with us FOREVER!!

She's had a cute little makeover (all in her deep sleep) where I was able to take out her braids, clip her nails, and clean her little ears.  She's to die for!
Thursday we were able to give the nuns at the orphanage all of the documents they needed to release Aliyah.  It was quite the moment when Sister Sebastian said, "So I guess you get to take her home today?"  YEAH!!  The nuns commented several times that her countenance has changed.  "She has become lighter", they would say.
We agree!  She LOVES her Daddy and lights up every time she sees him.  We found out yesterday that she can crawl though she MUCH prefers to be held.  She is saying "Dada" and "Mama" and is filling our hearts with lots of joy!

We've still got lots of hoops to jump through but we are still praying that Jon could come home this Sunday!!  That would take a miracle mind you, but we are praying!!

 Our first meeting
The mini makeover has begun...and the steep learning curve

There is nothing better than seeing her peace as she sleeps
 Our spunky little princess!!
An orphan no more!!!

  1. Oh my gosh...she is so adorable:) I bet it feels so good right now. That was a lovely thing for the nuns to say. It is amazing how resilient children are-we often underestimate them. Our best wishes for a smooth second half of the journey.
