(Because I am behind with pictures, these are actually from Thursday)
Friday we went back to Home of Hope and got to spend more time with Aliyah. It was sweet to see much less fear in her eyes, and many more laughs. She mimics Jon and blows the cutest little raspberries ever. She is not much of an eater so far, but we had fun playing with her toys. She is a SNUGGLER! If you begin to release your hold, she begins to wimper. We actually appreciate this as she is able to voice her needs with the knowledge that her needs will be met. This is a GOOD sign! We spent the afternoon at court hoping to get our Act of Adoption signed. The judge signed our papers and we were off to lunch to celebrate the next step in the process. It has been a joy to get to know our POA, Peter, and Fidele our lawyer. They have been so incredible in this process and are such advocates for adoption and for us.
We went back to the orphanage to see her at the allotted time. It was again just a bit sweeter than the time before. She was more lively and playful! We played her some music from my iphone and ended up seeing her face in the reflexion and leaned in for a kiss on the screen. VERY CUTE! She giggles with Jon and loves to be held by me. These little baby step visits seem to be really healthy and a good gradual process.
Beautiful, Laura!! She is a doll! Thanks for posting photos so we can share in the moment. I'm so glad that the process has been good for each of you. Love, love, love to hear how things are going. Rejoicing with you over God's precious gift to you and Jon!
